The positive effects of implementing preventative measures
Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) measures play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and safety of employees in the workplace. These measures have a wide range of positive effects on both the physical and mental health of workers, ultimately improving their overall quality of life and reducing the risk of work-related disabilities.

The Michelfelder Werkstätten
The Michelfelder Werkstätten, a group of workshops for disabled individuals, is one such example. As part of the Regens Wagner Foundation, these workshops provide employment opportunities and structured routines for disabled individuals, enabling them to earn their own income.
Since 2008, the Michelfelder workshops have invested in Hovmand lifters (you can see one of them in the picture) to assist their disabled employees in lifting and transporting crates weighing up to 40 kilograms. Previously, this task required the assistance of two employees, which made it difficult, if not impossible, for female employees to participate.
However, with the introduction of the Hovmand lifters, the physical strain has been minimised, allowing employees with varying degrees of coordination to perform the task safely and efficiently.
This has improved workflow, and productivity, and promoted inclusivity by enabling female employees to participate in tasks they previously struggled with.

Karamel Kompagniet
Karamel Kompagniet, a Danish caramel producer, faced the challenge of heavy lifting in the production process. To address this issue and improve the working environment for their employees, they invested in two lifters from Hovmand.
These lifters, equipped with special features such as a stirring tank and a tilting device, made it easier to handle the heavy pots of caramel mass and transfer them onto the cooling table without physical exertion. Further-more, Karamel Kompagniet used a lifting aid with a platform from Hovmand to transport heavy sugar sacks from the warehouse to the production facility.
The implementation of lifters simplifies work processes, eliminates heavy lifting tasks, and improves productivity and the working environment for the employees. As a result, Karamel Kompagniet experienced record sales and is considering expanding production with the help of additional lifters from Hovmand.
The Witt Group
The Witt Group, a leading clothing mail order retailer in Germany, faced the challenge of physically lifting 70-kg film reels to a height of 1.20 meters for loading the film packers. This task required a high level of physical exertion and risk of back strains for their staff.
To make the work easier and safer, the Witt Group invested in Hovmand's electric reel lifters with tilt function. With the push of a button, the Hovmand lifters correctly position, lift, and rotate the reels, reducing physical effort and injuries.
The Witt Group benefits from improved ergonomics, time savings, and reduced risks at the workplace. The dispatch group leader praised the Hovmand lifters for their robust construction and manoeuvrability, highlighting their superiority over the lifters previously used by the company.
